MCHC Donates AEDs to Nogales Sonora Fire Department

On Thursday, April 23rd, Mariposa Community Health Center’s (MCHC) Chief Executive Officer, Jim Welden and Medical Director, Eladio Pereira, M.D., presented the Nogales Sonora Fire Department with four automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Nogales Sonora Fire Department Captain Sergio Diaz Regalado and Lieutenant Victor Garay accepted the donation and expressed their gratitude to MCHC for providing their Fire Department with the much needed defibrillators. The AEDs will be provided to the fire stations with ambulance service and include: Downtown Central Base, Station West and East and the Nogales Base Cruz Roja. Each of the stations responds to all types of calls, but over 95% are related to cardiac or trauma related medical emergencies. A special thanks to MCHC Laboratory Manager, Gabe Martinez, who coordinated the donation.
