Support Our Mission

As a not for profit corporation, Mariposa Community Health Center depends not only on patient fees and grants from private foundations and the federal, state and local governments to support innovative care and programs, but also on the generous contributions of patients and local residents. Two primary venues have been established to enable contributions and support:

The Santa Cruz Community Foundation
The Santa Cruz Community Foundation is a Santa Cruz County affiliate of the Community Foundation of Southern Arizona. The Mark Ross Capin Endowment was the first endowment established to support Mariposa Community Health Center’s work in Santa Cruz County. The proceeds from this thoughtful endowment support capital equipment acquisition, clinical care and health promotion/disease prevention programs.

AMIGOS
The Family Health Center in Patagonia has been serving eastern Santa Cruz County since 1977. Originally founded as a private, non-profit corporation, the Center was supported over the years by the National Health Service Corps, as well as private practice physicians and a solo nurse practitioner. It became a satellite clinic for the Mariposa Community Health Center in 1990.

Amigos is a separate, non profit organization comprised of community volunteers from the eastern part of Santa Cruz County. The mission of the Amigos is to provide support for the maintenance of the facility and to assist with meeting the priority needs of the clinic through fundraising and grant writing. Over the years, the group has raised enough funds to provide for major renovation projects of the facility and for the purchase of essential medical equipment.
