Santa Cruz County contracts with Mariposa Community
Health Center to provide client services and public health programs including: 
Women Infants and Children (WIC) Program
WIC is a nutrition program for qualified pregnant and post-partum women and children up to 5 years of age. WIC provides nutrition education and vouchers for supplemental food based on the results of individual nutritional screening. For information, please call (520) 287-4994.
Immunizations
Preventing serious childhood illness through immunizations is a critical part of Mariposas commitment to child and family health care. Mariposa Community Health Centers Immunization Program participates with the Arizona State Immunization Information System and the National Vaccine for Children Program. Tuberculosis Prevention and Treatment
With rising concerns over the development of drug-resistant Tuberculosis, MCHCs trained medical personnel provide treatment and case management for local tuberculosis patients. Our team evaluates and monitors medications and makes referrals when a patient requires more extensive treatment. Mariposa also provides TB screening in the community. STD/HIV Prevention and Treatment
Mariposa CHC provides youth education, prevention workshops and anonymous, confidential free testing to anyone with concerns. One-on-one intervention and counseling is also available to patients and families.
Well Woman Health Check
Mariposa is the provider in Santa Cruz County for the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Detection (Well Woman Health Check) Program. The program offers cervical and breast cancer screening exams to qualifying women. The staff at Mariposa understands the confusion and fear that surrounds breast and cervical disease and is there to provide support, information, referrals, transportation and the support the patient needs to confront the disease.
